Pacquiao vs. De La Hoya! Could it really happen? The boxing match of the year is set to go down this November in Las Vegas. Reporters are not 100% sure that this fight will happen but if everything goes well then it will be set. Tickets will be red hot and all the fans will be anxious to buy one if they can. This is a dream fight for the fans, to see Pac-man fight one of the greatest fighters in the last 15 years-De La Hoya. The Golden boy as he is called would love for this fight to take place because it will be a great way to say goodbye. According to reporters, the golden boy is planning on retiring and throwing in the towel for good. This fight between these two titans would be one of Oscar’s best fights ever and it will sure be a memorable match if he does choose to retire. One that that the fans will never forget and it will go down in history. Of course we are not sure if it will happen yet, so this is pretty much a dream fight. Manny is set to fight David Diaz for the lightweight title. If Manny is successful he will then have to add some weight to himself if he wants to fight with the golden boy. The golden boy himself has some pretty heavy fights coming up as well. He will be fighting Steve Forbes on May 3, 2008 and then on September 20, 2008 the golden boy will tackle with Floyd Mayweather Jr. This will be a great fight as well.
However there are many questions regarding if this fight will happen or not. First of all, they both have to meet the same weight so that means that one has to gain weight and the other has to drop a couple pounds. There’s also the question “what if Diaz beats Paquiao”. I don’t’ really think this has a major impact on whether Paquiao will fight Oscar. They are both great fighters with experience. The golden boy’s record is 38 wins with 5 losses. 30 of those wins were knockouts. Manny’s record is 46 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws. 35 of those wins were knockouts as well. These two fighters are pretty much dead even so who knows who will come out victorious. I think that Oscar De La Hoya is going to win this fight. I have watched him in all his fights and I know how good of a fighter he is so my money is on the golden boy. All we have to do is hope that this fight takes place and wait to see if they win their fights ahead of them. Then we’ll get prepared for the showdown and watch these two titian’s go at it.
